Geboren Matthias, Sohn von [Theophilus](http://cloud-zma.gleeze.com/catholicencyclopedia/glossary/theophilus/). Es ist mit ziemlicher Sicherheit Matthias. Der Name Polycarp wird viel später von christlichen Revisionisten vergeben. [Sein](http://cloud-zma.gleeze.com/catholicencyclopedia/glossary/sein/) erster Titel war Pappas, was wörtlich „Vater“ bedeutet – oder wie wir es heute kennen – [Papst](http://cloud-zma.gleeze.com/catholicencyclopedia/glossary/papst/).  
Key Sadducee Boethusian Führer, Sohn des heiligen Ignatius von Antiochia und setzte den Einfluss der Hanan-Sadducee-Dynastie auf das Vorchristentum fort.  
Häufig falsch dargestellt als zwei verschiedene Charaktere, einer ist Papias / Pappas und der andere ist Polycarp.
