Sergius soll der Sohn von „Benedictus“ aus der antiken römischen [Familie](http://cloud-zma.gleeze.com/catholicencyclopedia/glossary/familie/) von Tusculum oder der Grafen von Tusculum [sein](http://cloud-zma.gleeze.com/catholicencyclopedia/glossary/sein/), die nach einer klaren politischen Agenda an die [Macht](http://cloud-zma.gleeze.com/catholicencyclopedia/glossary/macht/) kamen, um sicherzustellen, dass ihr [Staat](http://cloud-zma.gleeze.com/catholicencyclopedia/glossary/staat/) und ihre voll heidnische [Macht](http://cloud-zma.gleeze.com/catholicencyclopedia/glossary/macht/) erhalten blieben. Die Regierungszeit der Grafen von Tusculum in [Rom](http://cloud-zma.gleeze.com/catholicencyclopedia/glossary/rom/) von 897 bis 1057 ist wahrscheinlich eine der schrecklichsten heidnischen und satanischen Ausschweifungen in der [Geschichte](http://cloud-zma.gleeze.com/catholicencyclopedia/glossary/geschichte/).  
Sergius war 100% heidnisch als Hohepriester (Pontifex [Maximus](http://cloud-zma.gleeze.com/catholicencyclopedia/glossary/maximus/)) des Cybelekults im [Vatikan](http://cloud-zma.gleeze.com/catholicencyclopedia/glossary/vatikan/). Um diese auffällige Tatsache zu verbergen, wurde vom römischen Kult eine komplette Fiktion über [sein](http://cloud-zma.gleeze.com/catholicencyclopedia/glossary/sein/) [Leben](http://cloud-zma.gleeze.com/catholicencyclopedia/glossary/leben/) erfunden. Es ist gut möglich, dass Sergius von Lambert, Herzog von Spoleto, gewaltsam verbannt wurde. Es ist jedoch unwahrscheinlich, dass die legitimen katholischen Päpste vor 1084 und der dritten großen Invasion Italiens zur Wiederherstellung des [Katholizismus](http://cloud-zma.gleeze.com/catholicencyclopedia/glossary/katholizismus/) und des Christentums in [Rom](http://cloud-zma.gleeze.com/catholicencyclopedia/glossary/rom/) in die Nähe Roms gekommen sind.  
Er soll der Vater von Marozia gewesen [sein](http://cloud-zma.gleeze.com/catholicencyclopedia/glossary/sein/), der Tochter von Theodora, die mit Theophylact verheiratet war und den Titel eines Senators und eines der mächtigsten Männer in [Rom](http://cloud-zma.gleeze.com/catholicencyclopedia/glossary/rom/) zu dieser [Zeit](http://cloud-zma.gleeze.com/catholicencyclopedia/glossary/zeit/) innehatte.  
Es ist [auch](http://cloud-zma.gleeze.com/catholicencyclopedia/glossary/auch/) eine langjährige historische Überzeugung, dass Sergius III.
